2 Hard Hitting Facts

If you’ve noticed the past couple of months, we have focused on Lyme Disease. Lyme Disease is turning into a quiet pandemic and we are seeing an upswing even in our practice. There are so many people who are not being diagnosed with Lyme Disease but are suffering from the devastating consequences from it.

1) You can have a false negative on a lab test for Lyme Disease and still have it.

2) The testing for Lyme Disease is over 40 years old AND is the same test used to diagnose HIV.

We have covered the vast symptoms of Lyme Disease and the co-infections on our social medias (Facebook & Instagram). If you suspect you have Lyme, I encourage you to take a look at our reels and posts to see if you have those symptoms and are dealing with the effects of it.

1. It doesn’t matter how long ago you contracted Lyme disease

It can affect the body far into the future and wreak havoc while it hides behind other infections, parasites, and diseases. No one is protected from contracting Lyme Disease.

2. False negatives on Lyme Lab Tests:

You can absolutely still have Lyme with a false negative on a lab test. If your body doesn’t have the right amount of antibodies for Lyme disease, it will affect the way your test reads. This all comes down to the amount of time Lyme has been in your body.

3. The weather is warming up…

That means so are the bugs. Lyme Disease doesn’t just come from Ticks. It comes from mosquitoes, spiders, animal bites, as well as human transmission (sexual, blood, and in vitro).
